GOLD FRONT - January update
Feb 09, 2016
The 2016 Gold Coast Magic Millions Yearling sale was yet another success for Gold Front. Our Street Cry x Mafia Miss colt fetched \$370,000 and was bought by The China Horse Club in conjunction with bloodstock agent Michael Wallace. We wish them all the best with this colt as he looks to have a very bright future on the track.
Our Sepoy colt out of Rocksan was passed in for \$180,000. He has travelled back to WA and will race here under the Gold Front name.
Gold Front hope to replicate their Gold Coast success as we look ahead to the Perth Magic Millions Yearling sale on the 15-16 February.
Our 2016 draft features a mix of top interstate stallions including the first two yearlings to be sold in WA by superstar miler, Excelebration.
Excelebration’s oldest progeny are yearlings and the colt and filly being offered by Gold Front will create enormous interest.
Gold Front’s draft also consists of 3 yearlings by exciting stallion prospect Foxwedge, winner of the Group-1 William Reid Stakes, Foxwedge’s oldest progeny are just starting to hit the track, and look like they will have a very exciting future.
There are also yearlings by Snitzel, Written Tycoon, Trusting, Denman, Poet’s Voice, Slater and Gingerbread Man; so there is sure to be something that will catch your eye.
After a brilliant run on debut, PEGGY SUE stepped up in distance at Ascot on the 6th of January. With a brilliant ride by Chris Parnham, the 3 year old Monaco Consul filly got the money beating Rosewood Hill by 1 ¼ lengths.
The talented filly will come back better again next preparation, and we look forward to getting her over further ground and watching her success continue.
Congratulations to great supporters of Gold Front Robin & Gail, Kevin & Jill on your win with this very promosing filly.
On the 13th of January PATRIMONIO stepped out at Pinjarra and won impressively first up. Beating Grinding Hard by 3/4 of a length this win broke a 14 year winning drought for owner Tony Priolo .
The 3 year old gelding by Heritage out of Moss Flyer was a \$23,000 purchase at the 2014 Perth Magic Millions sales by trainer Brent Albuino.
Patrimonio races again at Ascot today in race 7 and looks to have a very bright future.
BRED FOR SUCESS
CHINA DREAM, Mick Price’s exciting 2YO colt ran 3rd to The Seductress at Caulfield on January 9th on debut. The Snitzel colt, out of Gold Front mare Forced To Tango was purchased for $230,000 by Sun Bloodstock at the 2015 Gold Coast Magic Millions sales. Mick Price has a big opinion of this colt and has nominated him for the Golden Slipper at Rose Hill in March.
Gold Front are offering a half-sister to China Dream at the Perth Magic Millions sale next month. Out of Denman, this filly also looks to be an early runner.
